    Hi there Dallasgirl!
Hoping you are doing well after your reversal.
I had complications shortly after my reversal & unfortunately 2 days after ended up with emergency surgery & woke up with a new Ileostomy :( So this summer when I get to do it all over I'll be looking for tips!
I truly do hope you are doing well & have had a good experience!

I had posted this and introduced myself on Gmos wall and saw you and wanted to introduce myself and share my story as well.Hello there I also am 48 I was diagnosed Feb. 18 with stage 3 colorectal cancer. I just finished 28 radiation treatments and a month of chemo. My tumor was too large to operate so I needed to shrink it first. I will be seeing my surgeon tomorrow to schedule my surgery and to get scoped to see how well the radiation and chemo worked on my tumor. they think I have this gene because I had no cancerous polyps and had a colonoscopy in 2006 and they think I have had this tumor for at least 6 years. So far it hasn't spread to my liver or lungs but is in my lymph system. I am a grandma of 7.My past year has been tragic April 7 I went back for my aunts services she passed from brain cancer and after the services dropped of my sister and she was struck and killed by a car .Here I am grieving have PTSD from her accident and get diagnosed days before her birthday on the 21st.My Poor mother has buried 2 children to tragic deaths my brother of HIV and my Sister being hit then months later I'm diagnosed with Cancer. I tell you what nothing has giving me more of a fighting spirit that to fight to live for myself my children and especially my MOTHER.I reached out to you we are the same age the same cancer I thought maybe we could be a good support system for one another.

Hello again, it's been a while since I talked to you last (not that you probably remember) as I haven't been on this website lately. Just checking to see how you are doing with your ileostomy and how you are feeling. My last chemo is tomorrow. Yay!! My reversal is scheduled in 4 weeks. Getting nervous as my tumor was very low and just plain worried. Wish I had a guarantee.

Just thinking about how you are doing? I've done 2 rounds of chemo and honestly, I dont know how I am going to get through the other 6. It's horrible and the pump to take home is the worse. Just can't sleep at all anymore and never seem to have any better days. When is your surgery?

Hi dallasgirl. Just wanted to reach out as I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in September. I am 47, no history of cancer in my family. Finished chemo and radiation for 6 weeks and getting ready for surgery next week for a ileostomy. Scared to death. Never google!!! Getting 2nd opinion today with a new oncologist. Wanting him to say I don't need a temp bag or surgery at all. Wishful thinking............I'm here if you want to talk or have questions. The more I know of people going through similar treatment, the better I feel.

How are you doing this week? I am assuming from your name that you live in Dallas. If so, I hope you weathered the nasty weather. I'm in the Northeast and we've had 3 storms this week. Miserable weather. If you want to exchange email addresses so we can keep in touch, you'll have to request thru GregP_WN. I am much better via email or text because I only go on this site once a day and never while at work. Hope you're doing well.

    Good Luck dallasgirl!!
I started radiation/chemo 10/21 & finished 11/26. You will be tired of hearing this but attitude is everything!! I've had minimal side effects. I'm ready to rest up & take in the next phase of surgery!
    You can do this!

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/colorectal-colon-cancer
There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.
