    Hi Bcompton,
I have read what you posted and you may find my journey of interest to you. I have been fighting this insidious disease for almost 11 years come this November. I decided to post my journey in as much detail as I could remember as I hope that it helps to make other people smarter and to not make the same mistakes that I have. I was on Zytiga for about 15 months with out any side effects except for its cost!!!! :-) I have found the best thing is to get more than one opinion and to find a good oncologist which was harder than I thought. My of them and stuck at whatever level they began a normal life and ceased to "go at it" like they did when they were younger. I can well understand this and for myself I needed someone who I could talk frankly to and who had a good sense of humor. For it is humor that has gotten me this far. There are many helpful people on this site who can offer up their own experiences which you can use to shape your journey. It is a journey and you must believe in the direction you are going and the people you are going with. Above call, keep that sense of humor, it will get you through to dark days. All of my best wishes and "stuff" to you and please feel free to ask any questions. If I don't know that answer I will tell you and If I know someone who might know, I will refer you. Have a great weekend and keep smiling. Michael

So sorry you have this problem. I wish my husband would correspond with another man on the same therapy. Have you had any problems with the Zytiga? K. is starting back on it tomorrow after being off with infections in a tooth and bladder.
If you read my posts, I think I described the problems we had when he was on it before. ( I always say "we." Cancer is a family disease. It affects the life of the family.) Prayers from TX.

I was dignosed and treated 12 years ago. My PSA was zero for 10 years and then slowly increased to 3.5 Last spring my urologist prescribed external beam radiation to kill the microscopic cancer cells in my prostate bed. It worked really well on me and my PSA is now back down close to zero. I have an appointment next week and expect a PSA of zero. I'm 70 now and if the cancer recurs, I'm going to try proton therapy.
