I, too, am receiving palliative care 7 months post treatment. I find my nose is running a lot and I have a feeling of more mucus in my throat when I swallow. I very much appreciate the suggestions for dealing with mucus. I hope the suggestions work for you and you become more comfortable. My experience with the treatment was much like yours-anorexia because I couldn't swallow, vomiting, dehydrations, extremely sore throat, stomach pain. That has all gone now and I hope for you those side effects go quickly. Life does become much better afterwards. My best hopes are with you.

Hello anndotcom, I'm sorry to hear about your partner being so sick. It must be such a shock to be in hospice at such a young age. I hope you have a good support system to get you through such a tough time. But, we here will be available for support when you need it. Take care.

Dear Ann. That's a lot of weight to lose in that length of time, but he can lose more weight and be safe. Remove the Ensure from his diet, since so many people with different opinions agree on that. You need to reduce the rate of his weight loss, and him to get stabilized---ARE you making him Cream Of Wheat with milk or water? Make it with water-it's easier to digest One of the doctors or nurses should have talked to you about this problem. That happens a lot. See if you can find a cancer dietitien, It's a new specialty, one that is deeply needed. Just check that out.

Take care-my heart goes out to you and your hubby.
