Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.

Hello. Know the beginning of the journey is very frightening. You should know more after your hysterectomy so first things first. Benefit to the knowledge of possibility of cancer before surgery they should be going in with the thought on how best to evaluate the disease progress. Plenty of water and stool softeners. Give yourself time to recover. No heavy work. This site will give you great support.

Hello tmcq, I see you're just beginning. The staging doesn't come until surgery. I guess they get a good chance to look around and biopsy everything they remove. At my hospital, they had a tumor board that met once a week to discuss all biopsies done in the past week to determine type of treatment needed, etc. So, I got my staging a week after my surgery. At that time, they gave me a whole long list of things that would happen next. It was 8:30 p.m. and I was alone and on pain meds, so it was very overwhelming for me to take in what the doctor was saying. Needless to say, 2 days later, I called and cancelled all the appts they had made for me because I just didn't understand everything that was happening. The only thing I can say about that is that within 5 minutes the doctor called me back to explain everything to me again. So, I guess they cared enough to not want me to just give up my chance for treatment and possible remission. That was in 2011. I'm still in remission. It will be a long, tough journey, but many people are surviving cancer now. Just ask questions til you understand and feel comfortable with your treatment decisions. Best of luck to you.

Greetings. Welcome to What Next. There are lots of great people here, as you've probably noticed. I was diagnosed with stage IV b endometrial cancer in Aug 2012 and am still going strong. I'm glad you found us but sorry for the circumstances that led you here. Wishing you all the best.
