How did you use the hemp oil? Cannabis is legal here in Michigan as well.

Hi, I am almost 62, and about to have my 6th cycle of carbo/taxol. i have UPSC IIIC1, and a missed chance of diagnosis last yr, resulted finally in diagnosis last June on our anniversary when I started to bleed, (after unexplained pelvic pain and fatigue and repeated doc visits and a misread pap smear). Blood clot after surgery, I give myself daily 2 shots Lovenex, and developed a huge hematoma over port which was unusable and finally removed after 6 wks of intense pain. At least a distraction from chemo affects. My friend has given me some oil and an edible. My brain seemed to be really foggy this time, couldn't tell if it was chemobrain or the oil, but my bone/muscle pain after getting off the steroids post chemo, was non existent! It really helped relieve the pain. I am interested in this, but no nothing. Do you think it helps your body defeat the cancer cells? I am due for external pelvic radiation in 2 months and wonder if I should continue the oil. Thank you for your help. Oh I also regularly use Reiki, meditation, positive visualization, hypnosis, and massage. I could not have gotten through this without all this help for my brain, I am way too good at scaring myself and worrying!!

Hello welcome to whatnext sorry for what brings you. Such a scary frightening time but many have stood where you are including myself and wondered how I would be where am today. I call myself ironmom45 as kids are athletes. My son did the most difficult iron man triathlon at the age of 21. Those are my kids so I must have strength like that in me too. Also comes from my favorite bible verse:

1 Corinthians 9:24 (KJV)

24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

Hi Robyn and welcome to WhatNext.com. Sounds like you're still figuring things out. I know when I first got my diagnosis, everything was kind of a whirl. It's so much to absorb and the you have to make decisions that will affect everything in your future... no pressure, right?

This site is a great place to get input and hear about others' experiences while weighing your options.

My cancer was ovarian but also stage IV and I expected immediate surgery (not sure why, that's just what was in my brain) and it was tough to go through nine weeks of weekly dose dense chemo knowing that big tumor was still inside me. Of course, it all worked out and my scans have been clear for the past 12-plus months so that's good. I have been blessed with an amazing medical team which makes all the difference.

If you hear nothing else from me, please know that stage IV is not a death sentence. It is a wake-up call but you can overcome this. Start right now and breath. I'm here if you want to talk or share experiences. You CAN do this. You really can. And everyone here is happy to help with support, cheering, advice, suggestions and more.

Wow, what a testiment to strangers and aren't all of us a "stranger" that can be that for someone else? Its always good to have a "feel good" story to keep us going. I am in a "waiting" game for CT results that had to be done even before finishing my 6 chemo treatments. Oh well, it doesn't change anything until I come back from sunny Arizona and enjoy some relaxation. Hang in there.

Dear Robin, Hi, you are pretty close to where I live. I live in Shawnee, Ks. I am sorry for your diagnosis. I too, have recently diagnosed. Uterine cancer. I know this is a scary journey. A friend told me to think of this as a relay race where you have to jump hurdles. To look at each step as a hurdle. Only looking at that hurdle, and not the others. Otherwise you will drive your self crazy. I had my hysterectomy on Thursday. Oncologist also took two lymph nodes. So now it's more waiting. But I take one day at a time. Have you seen your oncologist? Or have they set your surgery. Be sure to ask questions on here. With some understanding of this journey, can help you find peace and not fear. Take care.

If you have any questions, please use the question tab above -- that way the entire network will have access & you'll get a quicker response. I was diagnosed w/stage IV endometrial cancer in July 2012. It's a scary diagnosis, but I'm still here & kicking. Last tests showed NED (no evidence of disease), although I am waiting for blood test results from last week. I'm glad you found us but sorry for the circumstances that led you here.
