Robert: Good luck as you start this hormone therapy. I have been 3 years+ on these and continue on for who knows how long. I take megace to help control hot flashes. It helps but I still get overheated several times a night. The usual sex does not work, I need extra help for any e and expect that will be the case as long as I'm on hormones. I have found that the mood swings continue but have diminished over time. I have been blessed with a great wife and family. Wishing you the best as you continue this PC journey. Robert: Just a follow up. Your journey has similiarities to mine. Prostatectomy, Radiation and 3 years of hormone (Lupron, Casadex & now Xgeva) therapy. Today I'm 99% continent, ed is a part of my current life and my last psa was .008>. I exercise, play tennis and love my life as it is. I pray for all men in this journey. Wishing you best wishes going forward. A survivor, Ross0February 2013

Robert,
I think what you are enduring is what we all have to varying degrees...suddenly finding yourself in "a club" you never wanted to join is unsettling. I found that I needed to find as much information as I could to understand what possibilities exist. The unknown is scary, but once you know what might be in store (positive and negative) you can start getting your head around it. I imagine you have checked out my story - Ive had the robotic surgery, radiation, and a hormone treatment, and I am fine now (different than before, but fine) I still have incontinence and ED, but even that is managable....My PSA is very low, I dont live in fear, and although it was a long year of procedures, tests, body changes, and emotions, I feel very positive about my situation and my future. ATTITUDE is vital....allow yourself a down day or 2 but dont dwell there...whether you think you can, or you think you cant, you're right! (Henry Ford).... feel free to reach out if you have any questions0December 2012 -

Robert: 3 years ago just before Christmas, I was diagnosed. That was a hard time for me, but I got through it. Now 3 three yrs after, I'm feeling good with a PSA at <.08. My story is here and is just 1 version of how this PC journey can go.
Best wishes for the holidays and going forward.
