    Hi Poconos3,
Sorry to hear the chemo treatment was so bad for you. But at least you have other options available to you. I just finished my 1st chemo treatment on the 6th. Doing ok, except for one really bad night, lucky to have pain killers on hand, which helped me cope, had to take more that the recommended dose, but it worked. Just waiting for my hair to start coming out, which is not pleasant at all (hopefully it will be at night, when I'm sleeping (also have a few wigs on hand). Good luck w/your radiation treatments, I will also do radiation sometime in March/April. Stay strong & be well..

I am sorry you are having such a difficult time. I did drink Pedialyte starting the day before chemo and the morning of chemo to try to saturate myself before the poison. My oncologist said the chemo was in my system 24 hours, the side effects are still with me two years out. It is a systemic poison. Have you considered t dm-1, very promising in trials and perhaps more tolerable for you. Seems you could get it ahead of release date given your situation. Thinking of you, Lindy

My heart goes out to you! Hang in there, each day will get a little better. Please make sure you are hydrating during these treatments. I went through 6 (20 ounce) water bottles during my treatment yesterday. Don't wait to feel thirsty - I'm all about getting the chemo out of my system as quickly as possible. Hugs to you!!!

Hi Poconos3 - hope you're okay after Miss Sandy breathed on you! Welcome to this forum, glad you found us.
I noticed that you are HER2+ and I've just written an article today that might interest you: http://marnieclark.com/her-2-positive-know-which-nutrients-help-to-combat-this-form-of-breast-cancer/ Took me two days to put that article together, I hope it helps in some small way.

Hi. Have things quieted down a little bit since the storm? I hope you didn't lose power or experience additional hardship. This diagnosis and treatment are hard enough to go through, even in perfect weather! Sounds like you'll be starting chemo soon. Try to stay strong. I'm hoping you will not experience too many nasty side effects. Be on watch for the positive side effects, all those nice people you will meet along the way--your fellow patients in the chemo room and all the staff there. I found the chemo nurses to be outstanding, very knowledgeable and helpful throughout my treatment. You can ask them anything as they have seen and heard it all. Have a good day today.
