Dear Lisanjca, Welcome. I just read about your incredible news that your CAT scan is clear and your CA 125 is normal. I don't know your entire story. I presume that your surgeon in still going to operate due to another finding such as an abnormal vaginal exam or a positive vaginal ultrasound. I sure hope you are free of cancer. Please keep us posted. Wishing you the best.

Hi there, Lisanjca. Just wondering if you'd had your surgery and what the outcome was. I'm really hoping that you're fine and do not have any form of cancer.

Please do let us know if you can. We care. Hugs.

Hi Lisanjca, welcome to the site. I am sorry you were recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I know I was in debelief and upset when first finding out. The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to find a good gynochologist onchologist to head your medical care. There are very good ones in New York City, not too far from you. I traveled more than 2 hours back and forth for my treatments because there were no gyn/ oncs where I live. Also when you meet with your doctor take someone with you and write down all your questions before hand. I am not going to tell you the treatments are easy, but they are DOABLE? Take things “ one day at a time”. Reach out to the community with any questions or to individuals on their walls. Everyone on WhatNext is here to give you the extra support every survivor needs. Wishing you better days, sending a hug and here to talk anytime.

    Hi Lisanjca -- welcome to WhatNext.com. I'm a fellow ovarian/fallopian tube survivor.

In 2013, I was diagnosed at stage IV with epithelian ovarian cancer. The initial treatment was rough but I made it through. My life has changed a lot and I've had two recurrences but I'm still here and always hopeful.

Seems like this is rather new to you and I remember those days. Scary, worrisome, hectic, and sad. But as you get further into treatment, you'll see that the future can still be bright. Hold onto hope.

Please take some time to explore this site and check out the links, resources, Pinboard, and questions pages. The information there is great. The rest of us here are also happy to connect and answer your questions about our cancer journeys and how you can navigate the changes to come.

Best of luck! Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started with the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the database to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
