Karen, I had 30 rounds of radiation and 3 internal. I had no problems whatsoever...just tired. above all, drink a lot of water. My doc also put me on a rather bland diet..all white(potatoes, bread, etc.). That seemed to help with the loose bowels..never had to take anything to slow them down. Each journey is different, but it seems that each answer here is almost the same. God speed for an easy journey and another battle won! Patricia

I have stage 1 also. Have 3rd chemo and Neulasta next week. Are you having internal or external radiation? My Unco says we doing the 6 chemos because might be too small for internal. If I have prefer internal I understand does less damage. Please post how it goes. It really helps the rest of us.

    HI KARENRH,
I SEE YOU ARE NEWLY DIAGNOSED. I WAS DIAGNOSED THE END OF APRIL AND FEEL LIKE MY LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. SURGERY WENT WELL. ALTHOUGH THIS WAS MY FIRST SURGERY EVER. I WAS SCAREDBUT NOW AFTER BEING THRU CHEMO MESS I FEEL LIKE SURGERY WAS THE EASY PART. CHEMO MADE ME VERY SICK. I WILL BEGIN 28 ROUNDS OF RADS NEXT WEEK. TOLD I HAVE BETWEEN 50-60% OF SURVIVNG THIS FIVE YEARS AS I WAS STAGE III. THE CANCER WAS 52% THRU THE LINING OF MY UTERUS. I JIST KEEP PUTTING ONE FROOTIN FRONT OF THE OTHER. I WILL BEAT THIS. Do you know the cell type of the cancer? After each chemo I felt kind of out of it for 3 to 5 days, mostly tired, some body aches and pains like the flu and a little foggy on the brain. Did not need pain meds, tylenol did the job for pain. Only had vaginal radiation 5 sessions about 7 min. each. I had stage 1a but the cell type is rare and very aggressive.

Hi Karen. Welcome to What Next. There are lots of great people here, as you've already seen. If you have any questions, please use the question tab above -- that way the entire network will have access & you'll get a quicker response. I noticed that you are having concerns w/insurance; I work in the field of med insurance. In many instances when there is a precertification for a procedure, it is actually reviewed by another vendor, so the insurance carrier gets info that has to be forwarded for review. I know it's a pain in the rump, but that could explain the delay. I'm glad you found us but sorry for the circumstances that led you here. Wishing you the best! PS -- I'm stage IV b, a little more than a year out from surgery.

Attitude means a lot! Until my retirement on Friday, I worked in a major teaching hospital, and every day I walked past people who are so much worse off than I am. You just have to soldier on and soon you will be through it. Congratulations on your attitude, my dear!
