It's funny, before all of this most of us dreaded birthdays. Now, each one is truly a little celebration.

Hi Juddmaster. I just realized that you are quite nearby. my journey sounds a lot like yours. My current goal is to get to the point of the liver surgery. I was wondering who did yours and how long the recovery took and what recovery was like. I am currently doing chemo, avastin, 5fu and oxaliplatin . I am going to get selective internal radiation next so they have stopped the avastin for a bit but surgery is still the ultimate goal. Dr. Chung is my liver surgeon.

Thank you! I am currently on a 2 month follow-up schedule and my CEA was starting to increase last time. Finished most recent chemo round 3-14, In the past I've had 2-3 years between treatments. So, I am always hoping for the best. I've had stable cysts in my liver and lungs for years. In 2010 lung nodules started multiplying and growing. After lung resection and biopsies with metastasis confirmed, I've had 2 rounds of chemo. With a long break between treatments. Every day is a good day and I give myself permission to rest guilt free whenever I feel tired! I know it is possible to have long progression free breaks and hope the best for you!

You are so right about the neuropathy When FOLFOX was in clinical trials they almost didn't approve it because of the neuropathy but the cure rate is high and for most people the neuropathy goes away. It does present some challenges though! Welcome
