Hi Heather,
Good to hear from you, I was worried about you not being online! Where are you now in treatment? Praying all is going well for you.

I did get the TMD1 trial and am on Kadcyla, round three this Thursday. Some side effects but minimal and compared to other chemos (like those my daughter had) I am smooth sailing and feeling blessed. Have some concerns and questions for onc on Thursday. I'm not sure how to get you my email without putting it on here. Loving my team at UCSF, they are on top of everything.

Hi Heather3, Thank you for your support! That person just won't leave me alone, ugh. She keeps trying to start some sort of a debate but I don't want to engage with her, I only want her to leave me alone. But fortunately most people here are wonderful and wise. And now it looks like WhatNext has taken down her last posts on my wall which is great because I did ask end up asking for help. Thank you again, I needed that!

Hi Heather! How are things with you? I am enrolled in the ATTEMPT trial, don't know which side I will receive yet. My chemo starts June 12th with port placement that morning. Recovered from surgery and expansions all done :-) Feeling great except a little low hemoglobin and iron after surgery. All up and running fine now! Very anxious to hear what side I'm assigned to. Can I send you a private message on here with my email? Not sure how to do that.

Hi Heather, this is Terry. I'm 50 and also ER+, PR+ and HER2+
I'm stage 1A. I had my bilateral mastectomy on 4/8. Doing good. Expanders feel strange. I will see my oncologist Thursday for the first time. Would you mind sharing any questions/concerns you came across having gone through treatment? Would you have chosen the same treatment? What was your chemo schedule and what will herceptin schedule be from now on? Hoping you are doing well :-)

Hope all goes well with your surgery, hope you get that fruit smoothie soon, hope you ho home soon and yes, cancer sucks!

How did you change your diet to improve immunity etc. I am one week in to diagnosis and on big learning curve.

Thanks Heather3 for great advice on the bras. I read your journey and applaud you. you are a strong woman. You have endured what we older women passed in our 50's (hot flashes) and more. I didn't have to take care of children or worry about work. Your amazing. I hope I can get through this with 1/2 your positive attitude. I was heartsick when I read they found cancer under your nipple. I thought they check that wile you're under for the masty. Guess not.Thanks for sharing and updating your journey. Once again, your response to 'it's cancer' touches my heart! We have much in common, in our experiences of finding love and joy in all this mess! I have had three cancers in less than two years...I am beating it, determined to do more for others, joyful and also fully believing cancer is not a death sentence, but a life altering event thatis definitely the catalyst to make me a better person.

What a beautiful and kind response to my post! Your words touch my heart! None of us wanted this challenge; nor did we really expect it - despite the large numbers of cancer patients that continue to be diagnosed around us. But here we are, in this club that is the fight of our lives. And through it, I have found more love, more compassion, more joy than at any other time in my life. I have no idea how that is possible! Most likely, it is because I didn't have the eyes to see the beauty in life around me!

Thank you for your courage, for showing your children how to truly live! What a gift you are giving to them!

My mom got breast cancer when I was 15 and passed away when I was 22. That was in the 70's, and we've come so far since then! My mom was not joyful, but she was brave. Being a nurse, I am sure she knew so much that she spared me. I am grateful for her bravery, and hope that I am adding my own 'spin' on dealing with this for my children, as well.
