Hi - regarding Avastin, I completed cisplatin/Taxol/Avastin and then stayed on Avastin for a total of 21 cycles. The only major side effect I had was bone/joint pain. It became quite severe at about cycle seven, peaked at cycle 13, and gradually reduced until I was taken off the study at cycle 21. I still have a little hip pain about a year later, but most of the joint pain has gone away. It didn't cause me hair loss or any nausea/vomiting; I generally tolerated it quite well, especially compared to the cisplatin and the taxol. Hope this helps. - innadoon

    Hi, Dawn517,
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2011, stage IIIC, and I'm 44 now. I'm glad you found this forum, so that I could find you! I've looked at your journey and it really looks like a harrowing one. I'll put you on my following list and be pulling for you. I'm here if you would like to talk. Best wishes, innadoon

Wow, it seems like you got the full package of female cancer. I also had uterine cancer (spread to ovary and lymph node). I had surgery, chemo, and radiation. No Avastin. I hope you find some relief. I couldn't wait for treatment to be over. The treatment was worse than the cancer/

My name is Jeanie. I am a 1 year survivor of ovarian cancer stage lllc. Its hard I know to receive such news. Attitude will play such an important role. Don't know if you r religious but God truley led me through this journey. Give it to him. The book Jesus Calling with little daily devotions was my number one medicine. Its ok to have pity party days and get mad but always have you will fight and you ail win. I was 46 when I was diagnosed. I also chose to do 9 months of maintenance chemo after cancer as gone. I will pray for you.

Hi, I am a 2 year survivor of stage IIIC uterine cancer, and less than 1 year survivor of thyroid cancer. For now, both are in remission. The chemo was difficult, but I had more of a problem with radiation. I just had my first grandchild 2 months ago. Without all the treatment, I wouldn't have been here to meet her. Continue to be strong. You will find some inner strength to get you through the treatments.
