Why not go on a Diet to clean out and make stronger.
It's expensive and time consuming making veg juices BUT you can go and get something from Garden Of Life called Perfect Food...it's a Green Powdered Drink and costs about $35. I'd drink 3 of those a day. Drink Lemon in water drinks and can add stevia for taste. Get a blender and throw in Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, a banana, and some When Protein and drink a few times a day when your home. At work ONLY Eat raw seeds and nuts and fruit and veggies. Do deep breathing ten times ten times a day. Make sure your thyroid is doing ok. Make sure you are NOT Anemic. Chemo and other treatments practically kill you and it's time to build up energy, strength and vitality. ALSO...IF you drink coffee in the morning MAKE SURE you have another one at lunch to get you through the day. Caffeine is not the greatest but if your body is used to it I'd Take it.

Cut yourself some slack. Make sure before you go to sleep you go to youtube and watch old funny TV Shows like Carole Burnett.

Your body needs to repair the damage and it needs super nutrition to do it.

I forgot to say that I was told that rads could cause a sarcoma and could hurt the lung beneath the irradiated breast, but I was given to understand that those side affects - if that's the right term for somethings that can happen many years later - are not common. You probably know about these possibilities (also, my rads were given fourteen years ago, and treatment has probably improved since then).

    SOMETHING TO REMEMBER!
If you are suffering from a disease, or a chronic medical condition, you may wonder if you can ever be healed. The Bible has good news for you!
While doctors and medicine are a gift of God – and He certainly uses them to bring healing – His power is infinitely greater than any human wisdom or prescription. In fact, He “is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20b).

Throughout the Bible, God encourages us to call upon Him for healing. He says in Exodus 15:26b, “I am the LORD who heals you,” and we call Him “Jehovah Rapha” because He is the God of healing. Psalm 103:2-3 says, “Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”AMEN

    1. My left arm and hand were sore for about three days after surgery. (I'm left-handed.) I had to do everything with my right hand... eat, button my shirt, etc. I began exercising my left arm on Day Three. Your doctor will give you some ideas. Your arm should feel "almost normal" by the third week. 2. Then, there are the drains. Your nurse will show you how to empty them and keep track. 3. Pack your fridge with simple foods... grapes, nuts, yogurt, soup. 4. Please consider NOT getting reconstruction for two years!

Sunshine777 here! To answer your question about delaying reconstructive surgery... I am going to a terrific hospital, with terrific doctors.
Let me start from the beginning... There are 310 million people in the United States and there are 10s of thousands of doctors. There is a list of the "one hundred top US doctors" --- and the doctor that gave me the following advice is on the list! So I trust him!
He said that he has seen too many women in his office who got reconstructive surgery right away - have problems. Especially for pre-menopausal women, he would advise them to wait two years. He told me that he'd advise any family member in this way. I asked if I should keep my "referral" appointment with the plastic surgeon (knowing that I wouldn't get the reconstructive surgery) and he said 'yes'. Once there, I asked the plastic surgeon if there might be any problems, especially considering that I'm pre-menopausal... he said 'no'. Who do I trust? The doctor who made a 100 Top List, or a plastic surgeon?
Obviously, I'm choosing to wait two years. I have a nice bra with an insert. Insurance covers it.
Hope I helped. You're smart to gather as much information as you can. Have a nice day!!!

I had a lumpectomy with a re excision to clean up the margins two weeks later, a sentinel node resection (5 removed plus sentinel...all negative), received radiation therapy, no chemo based on my oncotype DX score, and am now on Arimidex...I have no regrets regarding my decision not to have a mastectomy, although that was my first instinct....after I learned more about breast-sparing surgery, and had the utmost confidence in my surgeon, I never looked back. You will find this site amazing and the people here more amazing...we "get it"... Please feel free to ask questions, express concerns or just vent...good luck and God bless!
