Hi Neena - I was diagnosed stage IV uterine sarcoma almost five years ago - while I have had recurrences every year, I have been able to stay active and work full time (I just turned 70!) I have been on five rounds of chemo with taxol. I was on carboplatin, but had the allergic reaction. So far the taxol alone continues to shrink my tumors. Stay as positive as you can - find things to do that aren't all about cancer! New treatments are developed every day - best of luck to you!! Sally Gabb

Hello NeenaMAO, I hope you're recovering well from surgery. I just wanted to jump out here and tell you that I'll be thinking of you, especially this Friday when you go to your appointment. I'm three years out from diagnosis (Stage IV Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma) with no evidence of disease following surgery and radiation. The waiting and uncertainty can be mind-numbing. My best advice is to lean on your faith and focus on the things that bring you joy, like your grandchildren. I surrounded myself with family and friends and told them to keep me laughing. Then I let my doctor do the worrying. It's cliche, and sometimes difficult to do, but it works. Stay positive! -Rachel

Hello NeenaMAO, you will find wonderful people, information and support here. I have a friend with leiomyosarcoma who has been followed at Dana Farber in Boston for the past 3 years. You are in very good hands. She is a longtime breast cancer survivor also.

Both of my grown children and their families live in Walpole and my daughter is a teacher in the school system there.

I too was diagnosed with uterine leiomyosarcoma stage IV. After 3 1/2 years of teatments which included, surgery,chemo, and external and internal radiation I am NED. I am currently taking an oral chemo, which I will most like take for the rest of my life. It is very rare and each person's treatment has to be tailored to their situation. Hi. Diagnosied august/2013 uterine cancer Stage 2C. Finished chemo in January/2014. NED now. I'm 73. Smart of you to get ahead. All of the terms made my head spin. Have someone with you for the appointment with a clear mind. Ask your questions, lots of different experiences here.

I can imagine that you were blindsided by your test results as I was. I was diagnosed months ago with stage IIIC ovarian cancer after a PET scan showed numerous abdominal tumors.You are wise seeing a gyn oncologist but I do not see anything that absolutely points to cancer, the growth may be benign.Smart to have your questions for the doctor written down and try to go to the doctor visit with someone.Wishing you the best.
