We ought to be the "dimple twins". I found mine that same way--then had to undergo test after test after biopsy after biopsy to confirm. My second time, too. Aw nutz! But treatment has sure improved since 2003, so I guess we are "lucky"!

Thanks for your answer about having another set of ears when u make visits to surgeons. My husband went with me to the first visit & we both missed some details - he's hard of hearing & I let emotion cloud my thinking & get into irrelevant chit chat with the professionals! Maybe I should get my daughter to go with me or I wonder if my ACS mentor would go although that's asking a lot. Btw congrats on your unveiling Monday!

    Hi Marianne,

I just got back from a vacation to have to put my cat to sleep (she had lymphosarcoma). I guess the good news is I had my 1st mammo post-mastectomy today, and it's a-ok!...;)

So I'm anxious to get this group started. Forgive me for being distracted, but I cannot recall, with all that's recently happened if Greg has given you my email address (he will if you ask) and I'll ask him for yours as well so we can start figuriing out details like when it's a good time for the 5 or 6 of us (so far) to meet as well as a locale near Penn Station.

    Talk to you soon!

    Warm wishes,
    Aliza

thank you for writing back... it took me a while to figure out how to write back to you. I have to remember to sign in. Do you think that i will have to have radiation and chemo if my pathology is clear from lump and lymphnodes?

    Hi Marianne,

I know that Greg gave you my "real" email address. I'd really like to get this off the ground, so please email me when you have a chance. Since you live in Bayside as well as one other person and someone else lives in Long Island (or maybe I have it backwards - there may be 1 Baysider and 2 Long Islanders), I know that you can all take the LIRR to Penn (my daughter as mentioned lives in Bayside), and I live in Brooklyn and one other person lives in N. Manhattan, we we figured we'd look for a venue near Penn.

Email and let me know how that sounds to you. I'd like to open the group up, not just to BC patients, but to women with all Female Cancers so we have more attendees, but initially I'd like to keep it just to the original respondees.

Looking forward to hearing from you on email!...;)

Hi Marianne. I read your Tamoxifin response and the bone and joint pain. Me too! Did it get better after going off the meds? I'm 46 and feel 76 sometimes. lol.

    Hi Marianne,

I'm happy to hear from you. I'm getting a number of responses. More than I thought. Btw, my daughter also lives in Bayside. But for practical reasons, since there's someone from Northern Manhattan and someone from LI, and me from Marine Park, Brooklyn as well as another Bayside person, it would seem that a number of folks can get to Manhattan via the LIRR so it seems to me that we could try to meet in Midtown perhaps near Penn Station. Perhaps we could continue this discussion on my personal discussion on my email which is aliciaphillips1724@gmail.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Warm wishes,
    Alicia

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/ovarian-and-fallopian-tube-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join. http://www.whatnext.com/recruit-a-friend
