Hi Lisa, i just read your post about learning you had cancer. How sad that your dad and brothers are (were) so hurtful. Makes me very angry on your behalf. I am happy you have your boyfriend ... and you have us, too! We care!

Hi Lisa. Ok so the dr tells me I am very sensitive to meds. I have terrible swelling, severe bone & joint pain, my hands and feet have constant pins and needles and go numb along with feeling like my hands are on FIRE! And the hot flashes are dreadful!!! The little bit of thin hair I have been able to grow back gets completely soaking wet and my entire face gets flush and just all the sudden pours down and I am just dripping wet, it is awful, the hot flashes come on about every 1/2 hr to 45 min all day long and night. I feel so emotional and cry at the drop of a hat and feel like a complete crazy lady. I am misable and I just want to be happy and I can't get there. And then there is the 70 lb weight gain in just the last 1 1/2 yrs since all this started. Hope I am not scaring you just hasn't been good for me but that doesn't mean it will be the same for you. Sending you a great big hug! xoxox. Feel free to ask me anything. I think it helps to talk about it and here others experiences. I kept it all bottle up and just recently have been able to talk about it without breaking down. So now I am on a roll

It would be well worth it to go to Manhattan Sloan Kettering, and get it done. I know how you feel. I didn't have cancer but I needed a hysterectomy for 10 years. I found one that did them on demand, but you had to wait a year and still want one. HE DIED!! He said that about 60 % of the women that wanted a hysterectomy, needed one, but the doctors told them nothing was wrong.

My 2 hour hysterectomy turned into a 4 hour ordeal. It looked so cancerous, that the doctors refused to believe the biopsy reports. They actually took tissue samples and drove them to 4 other hospitals for labs, St. Joseph, the state regional, Presbyterian, and Loveless, and to the private independent labs. I smelled so bad. I'd be in a grocery store, and people would come up and tell me to take a bath and a douche. How can doctors ignore that?

I had a thyroid ultra sound a few months ago. I was telling the tech that ultra sound was so good, and the the doctors would have seen the 2 huge posterior fibroids that caused the heavy bleeding. Her face went white, and she told me that women still suffer the way I did. her sister was TRYING TO GET A HYSTERECTOMY. All the doctors wanted to do was to give meds that stopped the bleeding, D and Cs, and remove little fibroids in surgery after surgery. Her sister was thinking that if she had huge fibroids that she could get a hysterectomy. I had 2 fibroids and the smallest one was the size of a fetus that would have survived. I like OBs, but I do not like GYNs.

My last period was 28 days. I really should have robbed a bank--then the jailers would have gone to a judge and ordered a hysterectomy and medical care. I was too weak to drive. I was taken to the ER at Ft.Bliss, Kirtland AFB many times, Beeville Naval Air Station, Holloman AFB, Naval Hospital San Diego, and they all said that I was bleeding too heavy for an exam. None of them would do an emergency hysterectomy. I'd go into GYN, and they'd tell me the ER doctors didn't know what they were doing, and I was a drama queen. Civilian friends would recommend their civilian GYNs. That's how I found the doctor that died before my year was up.

Barry, when a man gets cancer-- he joins the world of gynecology and how woman are treated. We're the cash cows that goes into a Cayman account or buys race horses for an IRS deduction.

Get the hysterectomy, and get all of your problems taken care of at one time. Hopefully, your doctor will understand and care for you properly. if you get a little cut out now, and a little cut out later, you're liable to have more complications caused by too many doctors getting their cut. Make your healing one process instead of many. The less doctors you deal with, the better off you should be. This won't post in the question

    Hey Lisa,
Glad to have you as a friend. I got a lot of negative push back when I decided to go it alone and I wrote this song about it called
    "DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE"

Cancer stinks any way you look at it. But do the best you can and when our Race is over on this Planet we will move on to bigger and better things.
