Ditto what Abrub said, are you seeing an appendix cancer specialist? I was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2011 and fortunately, the oncological gynecologist recognized it as appendix cancer when he performed the hysterectomy. I was referred to a specialist, who operated on me. I'm currently in remission, and have scans every 3 months.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Have you been to an appendix cancer specialist? The treatment goes beyond that of standard colon cancer treatment. I'm an 8 year survivor of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the database to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. Hope you are ok. It's a shocking diagnosis. I've been coping with it for over twelve years. Good luck.

It is mucinous adenocarcinoma but not signet ring. I was only given two months, but it has been 12 years. I've had a total of 9 years of chemo. May I ask what drugs you are receiving?
