Hi IrishJane, welcome to the site. I have been a member of the WhatNext Community now for 61/2 years . I came to the site in 2013 after being diagnosed with stage IIIC at the age of 66. Reaching out, talking with other survivors, helped me tremendously through the surgery and the chemo. Although our family support means the world , no one knows both the emotional and physical toll this disease takes but another survivor. Look the site over, ask any questions, interact with survivors on their walls. All of us at WhatNext are here to support and help each other and we are all stronger together. Wishing you better days ahead.0February 2020

Welcome IrishJane,
I am 62 years old. I was diagnosed with stage 3C in 2015. I am going through my 2nd reoccurence, metastasis to my left lung, 2 pulmonary nodules. It was caught early on a routine CT last year. It sounds like you are in treatment of some sort. I wish you the best. Feel free to ask any questions. We are here for you.0February 2020 -
Hello IrishJane - lovely name. Welcome! Cancer is a crazy journey none of us planned but here we are. Looks like you've been on this journey for a while. Sharing some of your experiences would probably help others, if you're so inclined. I'm another person who's been around the cancer block a time or two. I'm alive and kicking after more than 6 years and I was stage IV at diagnosis so I guess that's pretty good. Whatever, I'll take it. I'm happy to be here and happy to help you on your journey if I can. Sometimes even just knowing someone else has been there before you helps.
Some time ago, I recorded a series of videos for WhatNext about my cancer journey. You may find them helpful or perhaps interesting. I've included a link at the end of this message should you wish to check them out. My hair is longer now (but still pink!) and I have a new knee but not much else has changed since I recorded the videos.
WhatNext.com is a great place for everyone, from the newly diagnosed to those of us who've been living with cancer for some time - friends and loved ones too! While you're here at WhatNext.com, check out the questions and experiences of other folks here. You can find people who've had the same cancer, surgeries, chemotherapy and experiences should you wish. It's often reassuring to know others have been through what you're facing and thrived. I also recommend the PINBOARD - there are often humorous or uplifting posts that can make your day. Definitely worth checking out.

In the meantime, I'm here if you have any questions or want to chat.0February 2020 -

Even if you just want to vent, this is the place! Everyone here gets it.

Also, don't hesitate to help answer other's questions. At WhatNext we are a community of caregivers, survivors and thrivers, and we are all here for each other Take care, talk anytime.0August 2016
