    Yonie,
Here are a few dietary tips. Avoid sugars, sweets, and high carb foods. Avoid table sugar, brown sugar, honey, jelly, preserves, maple syrup and all sweetened beverages.Avoid foods with sorbitrol, dextrose, frustose, and xylitol. Eat 6 to 8 small meals a day and do not drink fluids with your meals.Eat foods with protein at every meal such as meat, fish, eggs, cottage cheese. For breakfast try cream of wheat with mashed bananas or scrambled eggs, with cheese added, apple sauce. Mid morning make a shake with Glucerna, orange juice (tropicana 50) protein powder, and fresh fruits. Have another in the afternoon. Crackers or apples with peanut butter are a good snack too. At dinner try mashed potatoes or a baked potato with 2-4 oz of meat. I also found mini cheese quiches very tasty and satisfying. Yogurt is a good snack as are avacodos. Do not try Ensure or Boost as they have way to much sugar. The protein shakes were very good and high in calories. Grren tea was very satisfying for meal too. Hope that helps and let me know if you need more ideas. Remember no sweets at all!

Good morning and welcome! I am a survivor of three years of stage 3 adenocarcinoma and have had a total gastrectomy and chemotherapy. It was difficult to get my diet adjusted but I now eat very normally with the exception of little to no sugar. For right now you need high protein and high caloric foods. Try making shakes with Glucerna, fresh fruit, orange juice(low sugar one) and whey protein powder. I had those 2 times a day and they added quite a few calories. Peanut butter and avacodoes are also high protein foods. I did save in detail my diet after surgery so if you would like more information I will be happy to revisit it. I found it difficult to get advise as there were no support groups like this site. Hope that helps.

Yonie, I was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma and my entire stomach removed. The follow up experience was not what I expected and it took longer to adjust to that than I was led to believe. I'm 21 months post-surgery and just getting back to a decent energy level (I did have extenuating circumstances). I then had 7 weeks of radiation and chemo therapy and that was tough--especially the chemo. I'm sure you know you need to take that one day at a time. This cancer is beatable and you can do it. My prayers are with you.
