Hi Survivor 2015-- I just had a partial mastectomy in January. Where are you going for your treatment? I live in the Bronx, before I was diagnosed, I used to ride my bike in Yonkers all of the time-- I hope you are doing okay with the chemo--0May 2015

I'm reading through your post and it appears to me you are suffering way more than what is acceptable. Anyone enduring chemo or oncology care experiencing pain has a right to have that pain assessed. All patients have that right! Pain is considered the 5 th vital sign that is monitored. If port area still hurts perhaps a lidocaine cream to numb the area if they won't give you a pill to take. Chemo itself caused me bone pain and my dr gave me pain pills. Nausea they can add emend prior to infusion that will control nausea. Then have a zofran or something else to take every 8 hours for the first couple days preventively even if feel nausea or not. Mouth sores ask for magic mouthwash. It's a mix of Benadryl, lidocaine and maalox the pharmacist makes. Works wonders. No need to swallow it swish and spit it out. If your symptoms are not addressed I hope you seek other practitioner. Yes we will have side effects but it is our right to have those addressed and managed . I tell you this as one that knows both sides of the fence. No one should suffer! Encourage you to drink lot of water and add a probiotic pill to you day as well. Prayers for you!0January 2015
