Yea. Mary, big time congratulations. Thought I would be starting my final round of chemo this week but it was delayed a week due to low white blood cell count. Hope the 26th will be my first day of remission. Couldn't be happier for you. Please stay in touch and let me know how you are doing. Takecare

Hi mary47,thought I would touch base and say hi.Have my first three month checkup on June 6th and am nervous now,you are starting early.I also have slight discomfort from my surgical scarring but it is growing less and less.Welcome to remission.I know it really is weird to not be under constant observation.Have you made many changes to your diet post chemo? I certainly have.Working hard to get back to post chemo normal.Doing what I can,if I can do anything, to prevent recurrance.Take care, don't be a stranger.:) Wishing you good days ahead.

Hi Mary47, yes I guess the bridge did break alright.Still Have one more cycle, three treatments, to go but am off for ten days to rebuild strength. Hope no one took pictures of the elderly lady passed out in the wheekchair, but then not the first embarassing moment I have ever had. My nurse was great afterwards and all of them certainly seemed to understand. Lucky I have such a great team. Radiologist will access my abdominal port final two times in Feb. since apparently it likes to move around. How are you doing?

Hi Mary, my name is Lynne and I am Kelly's mom. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just 2 months ago and at times still have trouble believing it.Months were wasted with my doctor convinced all my symptoms were from an increase in my gastritis which I was diagnosed with 2 years ago. Medications were changed without results and no further tests were done except for a chest x-ray until I had my ct scan in August. Like you I have a strong will to do what has to be done to get better, no matter. I too am losing my hair after two rounds of chemo but I like wearing hats and have several on hand. Hat season is right around the corner anyway. I am currently on a three week hiatus from chemo trying to build up my white blood count and am scheduled for another ct scan. If the tumors have shrunk like my doctor thinks , based on my blood work, then I will have surgery second or third week in November. Right now I am enjoying my freedom and my return of appetite to go to the movies, taking Autumn walks, and gaining back some of the weight I lost these past few months. Would like to stay in touch if ok with you Take care.

Hi Mary. I posted earlier but it doesn't show on your wall so posting again. My daughter is kelly_I've and my wife is lynneheinze for now and soon to be Lynne-I-am. I'm Paul. Lynne is going through what you are and about the same time. She has just finished nine weeks of chemo and will have a CT scan on 11/5 a d if the tumors are small enough she will have surgery on 11/13. Then three or more cycles of chemo and remission we hope.

We are looking for someone who knows first hand what she is going through and you seem perfect.

My wife is 67 years young and uses a iPad and laptop but isn't great at it. I'm hoping she can communicate via text at first and eventually via video chat.

Let us know if you would be interested in helping her.

    Thanks, paul

I am trying to figure out this site and not sure yet how to directly respond to your comment in my question. I think you and my mom would be a good match for support. I've sent a message to my Dad about it as my mom isn't very computer savvy. Is there a way to sen private messages back and forth or is it all public. Thank you so much for responding to my question. I just want to help my mom get through this and I feel like it could really help her to talk to someone that can really relate to her. :)
