  • It sounds like you are off to a good start. I presume there is a port used to deliver chemotherapy. That makes it easier to receive treatment. My adventure sounds like yours. Neuropathy, or numbing of hands/feet can be addressed with vitamin B6, almonds and dark leafy greens. I took those after treatment. Other than that, have you been advised to eat simple carbohydrates prior to treatment? I took Folfox. Simple carbs like cookies, white bread, white rice (pretty much any food that can raise sugar) helped combat nausea. After 3 days of Folfox, I had my port in my shoulder flushed/cleaned with a saline solution.

  • I am sorry to hear about your husband's recent diagnosis. Back in February 2019 I was diagnosed at age 50 with stage IIIC colorectal cancer after having my first routine colonoscopy. I had no family history, no symptoms. I had colon resection surgery then 6 months of chemo. It wasn't an easy journey, but with the love and support from family and friends I was able to get through it all. If I can be of any assistance by sharing my experience with you I would be more than happy to do so. Stay focused, stay strong and stay positive.
