Hi liltlw! I am Agnese, an italian student. I am studying "Design and Communication" at the Polytechnic of Milan. One of my bestfriends was diagnosed a cancer a few months ago. From that moment I decided to write my master degree thesis about cancer and to develope a service to help caregivers during the patient's journey. I know how hard it could be and i admire each of you. It would be helpful for me, my thesis and i hope for all the caregivers in the next future if you can fill a simple survey. It would help me to better understand your effort, your psicological and phisical needs and the relation between patien, caregivers and the hospital. If you want to partecipate it will be completely anonimous. Just let me know.
Thank you so much!0October 2015 -
It is very important that you discuss clinical trials for your Mom. At a cancer center designated as a cancer hospital by the NCI.
Go to the Bonnie J. Addario site to learn more.. call them as well to help you learn about your options.0August 2015 -
Good morning and welcome to WhatNext! I am very sorry for the reason you have found us, but am glad you did. We have many caregivers on this site who understand like no one else can what you are going through. If you have questions or just want to vent, please feel free to do so. Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.
Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also. Just click this link to invite them to join.

My dad was just diagnosed with lung cancer last month. (I'm not sure at this point which type.) He is currently in treatment and has experienced some of the same symptoms as you. I've only been a member of this community a few weeks but find the information and support network to be priceless. I'm wishing you much success in your treatments and I hope you have a great day. 1 day at a time.0June 2015
