Hello, My name is Brian, I was just diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, Esophagus Cancer this week and am trying to get my head around it. (my dad, whom I had not seen in 20 years died of Adenocarcinoma, Esophagus Cancer last July) I have found that our cancers may have been due to contaminated water we had while dad was stationed (USMC) at Camp Lejeune. but right now I am more concerned with what is next for me in tests, treatments and surgery. ( I have an appt. with surgeon next week -- my Gastro doc made the appt as soon as the biopsy came back, before he called me, as he felt it was serious to get started on this quickly = thanks, BF0April 2014

Please read my journey and maybe it will help.
Remember, Can't, can't do anything!
I was diagnosed with 4 stage EC
chemo, radiation, and surgery.
This is something you have to do to win.
I am a winner (survivor) !!!0March 2014 -
My husband was diagnosed at the end of September with esophageal adenocarcinoma. He underwent a CT and then a PET/CT a week later. I'm not exactly sure why both were needed, but he did have both. Along with an ultrasound scope of his esophagus. Those first few weeks are kinda a blur, things seemed to move slowly and then quickly, then slowed down again as we waited for chemo and radiation to begin before surgery...0March 2014

Hi Junebug, my husband also has EC, and just finished up his chemo and radiation. In a few weeks he will get a PET scan to see how tx worked and then on to surgery. Everything happens so quickly.0March 2014
