idahocowgirl, If you can get all your care shifted to St. Al's I have a friend who has lung cancer and she is being treated at St. Al's and she loves it. Her Dr. even recommended that she get a second opinion. He had the Dr. come up with a second opinion he would have considered that but the second opion only reenforced his. During the first cancer my radiologist seemed to take control. But the second time around was a little more complicated as I had two different cancers in the same place and was in the hospital because of an accident so things are a little confused. I just talk to my PCP and let her decide.
By the way the Statesman has done some articles on what is going on between the hospitals. I think there was a big BrewHaHa in Caldwell a few months ago

I am in the St Lukes System (Primary care. back injury care and MSTI for cancer care) I see a Nutritionist regularly. That may have been because I was terribly malnutritioned when I was diagnosed

    idahocowgirl,
Hello, I saw your post and I will address your concerns. It is not unusual for these follow-ups. They want to make sure you are healing properly with no issues like a seroma or dehiscence of the wound. They will also want to go over the treatment plan and amend it if they feel that there is a need to. Sometimes after a surgery it is noted that more of the cancer was retreived then expected and they might want to change the plan of care. They have to know when these adjuvant therapies can begin. Some people heal faster than others. It really is just a matter of checks and balances but nothing at all to worry about. Relax and continue to mend. I am always here to help in any way that I can. Best of luck to you, Carm RN.
