Hi there ecastricone. Congratulations on being an over five year survivor of Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma. Glad to see you are speaking up and being very proactive with your health.I am familiar with a fistula, my dad had a bladder fistula for too long before they finally repaired it. The OCRA is very active back east but I really do not know how active in New Hampsire. I recommend you go to their site, they may have an active program or Survibors Teaching Students in your area. I was fortunate enough to attend their conference in Washington DC last year. The positive vibes was palpable and support the flowed . Wishing you success with your medical plans and always better days ahead.

Yes ecastricone, that is a big problem with platinum chemo. Women either are allergic to them or the cancer becomes less sensitive to them and they stop working. After my first treatment, I too spent time in the hospital. After numerous tests, it was decided that the platinum chemo was kicking cancer's xxx and that is why I developed a daily fever. I missed one treatment while hospitalized but thankfully was able to finish the remaining four treatments before I had my debulking surgery in 2013.

You say the bone and muscle pain debilitates you, to what extent? Are you still able to get out and about some? Do you have family or friends nearby to assist you?

Hey there. Glad to see you on the site again. How are you doing? Overall, I have been doing well. I have noticed a dull ache on my right side, just below my rib and am planning on asking my gp to order a CT scan for me when I see him on the 28th. It has been three years since I have had a scan. I think that xxx disease could be raising it's ugly head again.
