Hi Dan, haven't heard from you in a while, just wondering how you are doing? Any decision on the maintenance? I get the results of my scan next week and then chemo round 4, that means you are coming up on Round 6! Great.0September 2013

Hi, want to let you know that I am finishing up my two year maintenance of Retuxin with the only side affect was tired for a couple of days never aching bones or anything else. My onc had said with stage IV non Hodgkin, which I was, that without Retuxin the ugly would return soon. This treatment was easy for me and supplied drug was pro bono from Genentech. I have one treatment left this Thursday and as of last ct scan the tumor was barely visible. Hope this helps you.0August 2013

Hi Dan!
I read your answer to Andy's question about flu shots. Sounds like you've made up your mind about not taking the R maintenance. I think you made the right decision.
I had you on my mind while at Mayo and asked the oncologist about benefit and down side of taking maintenance. He wasn't enthusiastic about it. I mentioned that someone I knew was concerned about using up his silver bullet if he did the maintenance. His answer floored me. He said that we've already used up our silver bullet by being treated with it in combination with treanda. He said that it wouldn't work to treat us again when we come out of remission and have to go through treatment again. They'll have to find a brand new cocktail for us then.
He did have something reassuring to say about the T&R treatment though. He said we could look forward to nice, long remissions. I believe this guy. He's published 73 papers on NHL. He has done his homework.
Who know what the new miracle drug will be by the time we need it again.0August 2013 -

Good luck with Round #4. How many more do you have to go? It seems like you're clicking right through it. You and Andy are my role models. I wanna be just like you guys when I grow up. Of course with the exception of being a dude.0July 2013

Thanks, Dan. Support of kind people like you is helping get me through this. This site has been one of the best finds I could have dreamed of. While we may not all have the same sub type of disease, we are going through enough of the same things that we can lend support and advice to each other.
The significant other's attitude has improved today. I had to sit him down and tell him that I need his support right now more than ever. It took tears and gut wrenching honesty but I think I got through. I hate to resort to being such a girl by turning on the waterworks but sometimes that's what it takes I guess.0July 2013 -
I admire you so much in your attitude. I hope to get there soon. You're so fortunate to have a significant other there to support you. Mine won't even talk with me about it. It is scary as hell going in for treatment alone and then being dismissed when I don't feel well after. Ok, enough whinining. I've learned to do a lot on my own. I'll just add kicking cancer's butt to the list.0July 2013

Hi Dan. I noticed that you had asked about posting pictures. If you'll go to the "pinboard" tab at the top of the page, you can post pictures there. People post all sorts of motivational or fun things. Or share themselves in various parts of treatment or, better yet, the completion of treatment. Wishing you all the best!0June 2013

Hi Dan - My husband was diagnosed with Lg B-Cell Lymphoma in Jan 2013 - done well for the most part with R-Chop through 1st 3 treatments. Then developed pneumonia in April and again in June--hospitalized 2 weeks last time. Anyone else get pneumonia? He's being much more careful now -- no work for next month, eating healthy and getting lots of rest. Only one more chemo treatment but can't do it until pneumonia is completely gone. We're so ready to be through with this and move on with life!!
Last Pet scan showed 90% clear!! Yeah!0June 2013 -
