I am sorry to hear that the nodules are increasing and hope that there is some mode of treatment that will be helpful Celia.
I am feeling okay. I go for a CT scan next week and see the oncologist on the 25th.
One day at a time with this disease.
My father-in-law is also struggling with throat cancer. It's so sad to see him suffer with the illness and then treatment, to boot. He is 86yo. Frustrates me that the doctors push such a rigid protocol even with the elderly. Seems everything is based on statistics. Can't say I totally agree with that approach as no 2 people are the same..

keep enjoying time with your family.
    Fondly, Beaner

    How are things Celia?
I saw my gyn/onc .... no treatment as yet. He will continue to follow me closely. My next app't is in 3 months and a CT scan then, also.
Next week I am having a needle biopsy of my thyroid. There was a nodule found on the CT scan done 9/12.
    Fingers crossed it is benign.

Best Wishes and hoping today brings you something to smile about.

    Me again Celia.
Yes, I will keep you posted and I would like you to do the same.
    Keep enjoying that grandbaby ....
it surely is a "grand" experience.

Don't let the bad moments get you down. I have them too and actually, they make the good moments sooooo much more enjoyable.. Pretty sure all of us survivors feel that way..

I understand that this disease makes you feel out of control. I feel the same way a lot of the time. Continue to be a strong advocate for yourself ... research ... and ask questions.

    Chat again soon
P.S. I smoked for almost 40 years and QUIT the day of my lung surgery. It's been tough but it can be done. It's been 2 months since I have had a cigarette. I am so impressed with myself. I honestly never thought I could go even a day.

    Hi Celia,
Hoping you don't give up hope that things will be okay. I think that's the secret .... if you think good thought it makes you feel good. I totally understand your fear but try not to let it disable you.

I had a 13mm nodule appear on a CT scan in early May. It was removed surgically on June 14. The thoracic surgeon suspected that it was endometrial cancer and sure enough it was. I have been "cancer free" for almost 5 years. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer Stage 3C in 2011 and in 2012, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer. Had surgery for both. Had chemo and radiation for the endo cancer .. no treatment for the colon cancer.

When I saw my Gyn oncologist a few weeks ago, he gave me the option of having chemo again but said he could not guarantee that it would be of any help. I chose not to. So his plan is to keep a close watch on me. I will have another CT scan in mid Sept. and see him a week after that. ?not really sure what my prognosis is.

I am 62yo, married, have 2 children and 4 grandchildren under the age of 13.
    We live in NY.
Enjoying them and the rest of my family is what keeps me going.

Feel free to write. I will be thinking of you.
    Big Hugs.
