your recent post to What did you do to accept this "new normal" and all the things you reported of post op, feelings, thoughts etc ring true in my head. No one in my family understands as I am the first to experience this, and they all have moved forward like everything is fine yet I wake everyday and I am reminded of how different I look and feel because of the cancer, the treatments, the medication etc, and now I am headed in for yet another surgery because of side effects etc of Tamoxifen. (removing all my inside parts! ovaries, uterus, Fallopian tubes and cervix of course) I have gained over 45 lbs, I exercise but have difficulties breathing and getting over heated I never use to have, I have changed my diet, but it doesn't help........anyhow, I still move forward and as far as it is up to me make positive choices and choose to smile, but honestly, it sucks. It really sucks and sometimes I just have a hard time and feel all alone. Thanks for your post and I will be rooting for you in your journey. peace

Dear Carterd: God does love you. Your selfish, ignorant, hateful, son should get his face PUNCHED, not slapped, for being so disrespectful to his Mama.
It would be better to live in a group home or shelter than be around him. You deserve better than that. Strangers would be kind to you and have empathy for crying out loud. Get away from there as fast as possible. You need to feel loved, cared about and safe.
I am sorry that he said you are milking it. Very very mean.

You are ER/PR positive which means the cancer was fueled by your hormones. Tamoxifen creates a barrier that does not allow the hormones to feed the cancer cells. The risk for getting uterine cancer is extremely low but it is a risk to be taken seriously. You will be monitored by your obgyn for any signs of cancer growth. The risk of reoccurrence of the cancer in another form is higher if you do not take the tamoxifen. Ask why your doctor has taken you off of tamoxifen. Serious side effects include blood clots and you will be pulled off of it if you do firm any clots. If you are post menopausal, there are other drugs that work as hormone blockers with less side effects. Since you have had chemo and radiation, you will always be under their care. If you have any questions, reach out to them and ask for a full explanation of anything you are not clear on. You deserve no less. All my best to you.

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
