Am doing well after surgery & expanders, although recovery is taking much longer than expected.
I see that you had an Oopherectomy, could you tell me did you have genetic testing done to help w/this decision?

    Hi mistydkw,

I was just looking for some advice from someone a little further along than me :)

I am 42, stage 2a, had a bunch of surgeries that ended with a double mastectomy last wednesday. My biggest issue is the axillary dissection. 25 nodes were removed, 2+. The numbness still exists, and where it doesn't I have pins and needles, especially in my armpit. Does this ever go away?!

Range of motion is also an issue. I wasn't able to do much exercising because of overlapping surgeries, so I have a lot of scar tissue. I am trying to get in for PT to help with that. Wondering if my old range will ever be back?

Anything else you can tell me about this and what experiences you had?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the info and good tips! :) i am such a basket case today that having practical things to focus on will help.
The plan is for immediate reconstruction, so I hope that is how i wake up after surgery. I have been trying, but don't think I'm quite prepared for how much time I may have to take off work. I had 2 weeks in my mind(!) well always good to have a goal. But I will take your advice and just take it slow. No sense having complications due to stubbornness.
Fingers crossed & ready to roll! :)
