Hey girl, was just hoping you were well and spirits are high. I ended up having bilateral mastectomy. Nodes were affected. Drains in for 13 days. Am starting chemo on the 18th. How are things going for you so far? Did you end up with the bilateral? And what is the oncologists plans for you now? I know, I ask a lot of questions. Feel free to vent anytime!

Hi kw23, looks like we are in about the same boat. My surgery is the 11th. Hope that by following each other we can relieve some of the anxieties that are obviously going to plague us. Let me know if you have any questions about my procedures.

i,too was diagnosed with stage 1 lobular carcinoma 1.1cm. I am now recovering from a lumpectomy done 2 weeks ago. Dealing with the fear of the unknown and the waiting game is so real. Even in preop procedures that fear came in. I focused on prayer, knowing that this is early detection and how amazing medical technology is in helping fight this battle. Got thru it and now back to waiting for the next step chemo to begin. We just need to focus on the positive. By the way I live close in Palm Springs and had surgery in Loma Linda VA hospital. Stay positive and you too will become a survivor.

I hope that the doctor's will be deciding on a treatment plan for you soon. If not, get a second opinion. Don't wait. This is nothing to mess around with as you well know. Anyway, welcome to the site. I think that you will find this a friendly place to come when you need to sound off or vent from anger. We are all here to listen and help, if we can, because at some point and time in each of our lives we have been in your situation. Please don't be afraid to ask questions either. No question on this site is silly or dumb. We all have questions we would like other opinions on or answers to. There are so many nice people here that it has helped me get through my fears I had when I was DX'd with DCIS. Good luck in the future.
