Thank you for reaching out to me. I'm still battling all the emotions and panic from my diagnosis. Will begin radiation and meds soon and have been researching everything like crazy. I welcome your invitation to communicate. Same goes here anytime you want to talk or vent....

You have every right to be crying and very upset. Don't let your doctors put a guilt trip on you. It was your body and your choices on how to treat it. You know what smoking was doing so you don't need the doctor to keep telling you that it was wrong. That was in the past, today is a new day and you are going to choice a new path. Had slow healing after surgery so I started to sit quiet and relax for a few minutes after crying, took zinc for healing skin problems. Give yourself a little credit for trying. It will get better and please just take one day at a time, that is all any of us have. Good luck YOU CAN DO IT

You are in a dark place right now, and I'm sorry. You do have your husband to help you through, but, yes, cancer is very hard on our loved ones. They experience it differently than we do, of course, but emotionally it takes a toll. Please try not to look too far down the road as it just seems overwhelming. Concentrate, if you can, on only what needs to be done today, and if there's nothing medical on your calendar, do something nice for yourself. If the sun is shining, can you take short walk outside (it's bone-chilling cold here in MI today so I hope it's nicer in WV)? I know some doctors can be, not sure what word to use--dismissive? curt? I have had pretty good experiences thus far but more impressive than the doctors are the oncology nurses who have been so wonderful, so caring, so knowledgeable. I will keep my fingers crossed that as you move forward you will meet some fantastic people who will make this journey easier for you. I'm hoping today will be a better day for you than yesterday. Please try to stay strong; you are entitled to some "down days," yes...but it's a long haul so I'll pray for courage and strength for you. That was/is MY everyday prayer, and so far, so good.

Hello and welcome, we are glad to have you with us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/breast-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.
