Hi futuredreamer, just wanted to stop by and say "hello". I know it's such a bad situation to meet by but regardless just know we're all here keeping you company on this journey. I know a recurrence is something none of us want but unfortunately it's a risk we all have to live with. I had a recurrence as well after months of treatment, all I can do is keep moving forward. Keep fighting and keep living. Sending hugs your way.

Hello and thank you for answering my questions. I don't know the last time you were examined, however if you have been radiated and had internal (tandem & ovoid) radiation, my concern is if the radiation has not thinned the walls of the vaginal vault to cause either a tear to the cuff or a fistula. The fact that your tumor was near the uterus says that your malignancy was upwardly mobile into the endocervical cavity instead of downward effecting the vault or vulva. Are you itching from the discharge? To radiate the cervix area is such a delicate procedure because the margin between enough and just right is so thin. I hope that you are asking your gyne-onc what the source of this discharge is. It should not serve as a reminder, annoying or otherwise. You might have an unrelated infection. You have been through quite a lot and so I would hope that you would address this with your onc and let her know that it is affecting your quality of life. One so young as yourself should not have to endure that aggravation no matter how slight. Excess moisture no matter the source is a breeding ground for bacteria, virus, or fungal properties. I am always here should you need anything and a great source for you is a website called the foundation for womens cancer which has a page that addresses cervical cancer in detail. I specialized in gyne cancers and I found the info there quite educational. Please do not hesitate to write if I can be of any service to you, Carm.

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.

    https://www.whatnext.com/conditions/cancer/cervical-cancer

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
