Hi, I would like to follow other Her2+ ladies & keep in touch. Hope you are doing well. Post 2 weeks radiation after chemo (TCH) & am finally starting to feel human. Go back to work in two weeks. Have a great week ahead, Barb

Thanks for your answer. I appreciate your input especially the comment that sometimes you regret the double. I considered that, but no longer a consideration. Still lots of fears but trying to stay positive.

The cluster area is too large and there are calcifications scattered. I have to have a mastectomy. Still working towards that surgery after all the preliminary stuff is done. I have a heart murmur and kidney disease that makes my case a little more difficult.

I did not have the shoulder tissue exchange. How long after the permanent implant surgery did you start feeling comfortable?

    Nomadicime,
here is link to an article on cardiotoxicity with Herceptin. I am not at adept with this Kindle as I would like to think so my reply to your post got cut off d/t my poor aim. I have a degree in immunology and genetics and prior to nursing I conducted clinical trials as a certified coordinator. That is where I had the opportunity to interact with some relevant biochemists in Europe and in the U.S. who were also doing similar trials. As a nurse, I got certified in chemo/biotherapy and that was the first place I had heard of a relationship between Herceptin and cardiomyopathy. After some digging on PLoS here and with NICE in Europe I was able to verify the claim. Sorry my message to you was cut off in error. My dexterity is not as good as it was 30 years ago. Then I could thread a needle like nobodys business; now I have to wear bifocals just to see the needle. I hope this article sheds some light and I will be more than happy to furnish more if it pleases you, Carm.
