Hi GBenne,
I hope you're doing well. I'm curious about what your oncologist suggested for treatment that has you concerned...
When I was diagnosed stage 1 my only treatment was hysterectomy (my particular type of ovarian cancer did not respond well to chemo, they said). Almost eight years later, my cancer returned. I changed doctors/hospitals, had surgery to remove the cancer, and chemo (since it had spread, we decided to hit it hard even if my stubborn type of cancer doesn't respond to chemo - had to try everything we could!).
The chemo was intense, all the usual side effects (hair loss, nausea, vomiting) but I got through it. And I'd do it again in a snap if the darn thing comes back again.
I hope this helps you - please let me know if I can answer any other questions you have...what nexters love to help each other out!!!
Many blessings and much hope,

Hello. I can maybe help. Last May I had a surgery to remove a mass that was found from pain I was having. I was then diagnosed with Peritoneal Cancer, went through 6 rounds of chemo, had a debulking surgery on 12/12/12 and then was rediagnosed as primary Ovarian cancer. Went through 2 more rounds of chemo, my last one was 2/7/13. I went back to work on 2/28. My CA125 test was a little elevated last month, I have to wait until 7/18 for my next results to see if it went back down. That's a quick recap. I went through quite a bit and can share my experiences with you. I am 50 years old and live not to far away from you. Let me know how I can help. Have Faith everything will be ok.0July 2013
