Hi @BarbaraCabel and thanks for following me! I read below on your post to Stew that you're doing well!!! That's awesome. You are so right about how much science is accomplishing. I always say that if I have to have lung cancer, this is a good time to have it. So much more hope than just a few years ago.

    Keep in touch, okay?

I am my wife's caretaker; she was diagnosed in August 2017 with having Stage 4 Cancer in her lungs, liver, and bladder. The bladder had a large tumor which was taken out surgically. Yesterday after the first stage of many rounds of chemo with Gemzar and Cisplatin she shows much improvement. 12 lesions on the lungs and one is left; others are gone and the one is reduced by two-thirds. The Liver had 16 lesions; one left there at 50% reduction. Bladder is clear of tumor; a slight thickening of one wall of the bladder is present and appears being in the healing stage. It is very hard for PET or Cat Scans to get good imagery as the bladder is hollow. Then we were told even the spots in her bones appeared to be calcifying. This was news to us as we had not been told about them before. They said they withheld it as it would have been overload to our brains. Lol, stage 4 is bad enough with three regions. Much improvement. Very hopeful after this report. Going into stage 2 of the Chemo Next week; new scans later but the radiologist was even praising along with the oncologist. Hope be with you and do not fear; you will be uncomfortable with some of the meds and with your Dr. but ask about things; get as informed as you can. It is your body and you are actually in charge of it.

Hello and welcome, we are happy to have you with us. Please feel free to join in the conversations. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the database to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall. Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
