    For a typical Medicare enrollee, yes, 65 is correct. However, being on SSDI for two years entitles you to Medicare at a younger age. I am only 45.Never did I think I would have Medicare at my age.

    I am truly grateful for it, though.

  • I meant to mention this before, but state disability is usually available just for a certain period of time (e.g. 6 months or a year). You can have both SSDI and state at the same time, The amount of SSDI you receive will be temporarily reduced until you've exhausted your state disability.
