Hi there SuziDu, thank you for sharing your experiences so far. WhatNext is the online site I found when I was first diagnosed with stage IIIC in September. 2013 at the age of 66. No matter age, many of us share experiences although everyone does react differently. Be patient with yourself and take things one day at a time. After any surgery it takes time. I slowly gathered my strength back by walking, first around the house then a i/2 mile up the street, then eventually two miles. The important thing is to be active at your own pace . I imagine you are receiving some kind of chemo. If you are on Taxol your hair will thin -I shaved my head and I have a great picture of my bald head at Christmas. None of the treatments for this disease are easy, but they are DOABLE! Keep in close contact with your doctor about any side effects from the chemo or the medications they give you pre chemo ( anti nausea and steroid meds.) Fatigue was my biggest side effect. It is common and showing up two days after my treatments. Also recommend a stool softener to take while on any platin chemo. Drink ,drink, drink fluids before , during and after the chemo treatments. Look the site over. WhatNext has informational articles and blogs. We also have a community of cancer survivors that will help answer questions you have when you use the question tab. I know it has certainly helped me , talking to other survivors, and I hope it helps you also. I am here to talk anytime on my wall. We are all stronger together.
