Welcome to WhatNext! I saw your location, which is my hometown, and had to read your journey experiences. Since I've been in Chicago for over 40 years, I've not needed to go to the Mayo Clinic, but I follow some of their online information and recommendations, and I have relatives who've been to Mayo. You're in good hands. When I had a choice between radiation and chemo, I chose chemo because of the risks of radiation. But proton beam therapy is another avenue altogether. I hope it is highly effective for you.
