Hi Jen,
How is your brother doing? Has he had his bone marrow transplant yet? If so, hope it's going great! Unfortunately Dj's cancer came back within just a few weeks of a clean PET scan & he is actively undergoing chemo now to get him back in remission ASAP. Once in remissions again we will go to Duke University to get a bone marrow transplant. Please update when you can & praying all is well with you & your family.0July 2013 -
Thinking of you and wanted to check in on your brother. Hope things are going well for you both.0February 2013

My cancer was either not eliminated by treatment, or immediately relapsed, so an autologous stem cell transplant (my cells) will not cure me. And, there is no known donor for an allogeneic transplant. So, a transplant is not an option for me. My treatment is on-going and there is no foreseeable end to it. I suppose that it may be considered cured if it is gone for 5+ years,or so, but I am not quite there yet. Anyway, there are several other treatments that I can try if this one fails.0May 2013

Hi Jen,
Dj just finished up round six yesterday . The hospital stay went well & the only thing going on this week is lab work & the nulasta shot tomorrow at the oncologist office. Dj's regiments of chemo are as strong as you can get according to what the doctor told us last thursday at his office before heading to the hospital. He has done great through his treatments. Has every day been great....NO! however, his attitude has been "let me get this over with, I don't have time to be sick" and he truly believes that God has healed his cancer & will tell you this. We believe in miracles! He seldom ever takes anything at all for nausia and goes about his daily life as normal as anyone could possibly go. He is an advid hunter & killed 5 deer this past deer season. He would go for his hospital stays & the next day be in the woods ready to go. He plays the guitar in church & has missed a total of two services in the past six month's & only because he was in the hospital over those weekends. We left the hospital yeterday about noon (4 days of chemo in-patient & a blood transfusion), stopped for mexican, and he was in church last night playing his guitar . Is this "normal"? no. We've been told that most people do not do this well at all. BUT attitude is everything & with God's help...IT IS possible!! I am sure your family is just like we were....SCARED to death!! Please know that we are here for you & your family even though many miles away. Our thoughts & prayers are with you! Contact us anytime. Our next regiment of chem will be in 21 days for about 5 days in the hospital & we should finish up treatment around the middle of March. Dj plays on softball league's and plans to be well enough to play this summer. Praying for YOUR miracle....it is POSSIBLE!0January 2013 -
