Hi Gidget1978. I read your posts and you were so positive, I loved it! How are you doing? It has been awhile since you posted.
We hope and pray all is well.0June 2016 -
So glad to hear from you. Sorry to hear your bad news but happy to learn your treatments are working. Hooray on your anniversary. By coincidence that's my doctor's appointment.
My last appointment, 2 weeks ago, my doctor wanted to have a PET Scan and come back within a week. I asked for a week off so we could take a vacation to see family. I think I may have over done it. We got back Thursday and Friday started going down hill.
Had my PET Scan today. Haven't been able to eat more than a few bits since yesterday.0September 2013 -

You are sooooo young to have such an extensive disease. I was diagnosed in February with small cell lung cancer extensive or stage IV. I'm still reeling,!!! I went thru 5 out of 6 rounds of chemo (carboplatin etoposide). The 6th was held when my oncologist ordered a CT scan that revealed further mets to my spine pelvis and femoral heads. Lung cancer sucks !!! Take care. Beth0July 2013

Here is one place in Scottsdale, http://www.evaluationtoday.com
The one on Southern, http://cannabispatientcenter.com
You can google Medical Marijuana Doctors Arizona and get a list. They want to see some type of proof of your condition, doctors records, scan results etc. something that says you have cancer and who you doctor is. Typical cost is $150 for them to review and help get all of the paperwork done. Then $150 to the state to actually get everything processed and issue you a card. There are several dispensaries most are in Phoenix.0May 2013 -
Hi Gidget, Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I was diagnosed about 7 months ago too. I finished my chemo in Feb and my radiation about a month ago. It sounds like they gave you nulasta (builds white blood cells) or xgeva (builds bones). They told me to take Clariton and Alieve to help with the bone pain. Also found a heating pad will also help ease some of the pain. I know the pain was terrible and nothing would touch it so I ended up on morphine. I had several friends who also helped with some "natural" medicine and I am applying for my medical marijuna card. It really does work. All I can say is eat small meals when you can. I drank alot of fruit smoothies and milkshakes with added protein. Listen to your body and if you need to sleep then sleep, it's just your body trying to heal itself. If you have questions that I can help with let me know, we live close by too.0April 2013

My heart goes out to you! You certainly have been through a lot, yet here you are and still fighting. We have similar journeys except that mine was caught fairly early, considering how fast the SCLC grows. I had prophylactic brain irradiation (PCI) after chemo. The tumor recurred so then I had the lung radiation. I experienced the same symptoms as you did with the chemo and radiation but keep in mind, those symptoms will go away. There were days when I could barely get out of bed. I can't advise you regarding the spine, didn't have that. It's a good thing you joined "What Next" because it's a great source of support and someone on here can give you any answers you're looking for. Eat with nutrition in mind, drink plenty of fluids and get a little exercise daily when able. A good state of mind goes a long way! Sending healing thoughts to you.0April 2013
