Do you have the resources to hire some help and take off for a few days? Go somewhere and do something that you want to do now, if you can. Take as many days as you need. I did everything that I could for myself. It was part of what kept me going. I needed help with driving, but would rather do the rest myself. My girl was so upset that she was in worse shape than I was at times. Dealing with it, day after day, is draining. You need a break. Can a friend help and maybe you could see another family member, or friend, for a few days?

I know how hard it is to be a caretaker for someone who doesn't cooperate. I take care of my husband who has Parkinson's and is progressing somewhat rapidly. If I weren't here to monitor him he would sleep all the time, not eat and not take his meds. We're both in our 60's, so we're older than you, and luckily, retired. It's frustrating sometimes and overwhelming other times. Juggling is difficult, because I am a recently diagnosed stage 4 cancer patient undergoing chemo, and I have no time to feel sorry for myself. (Maybe that's a good thing : ) Is there someone who can look in on your husband when you're working? Can you call him when you're working to make sure he has eaten and taken his meds? Maybe your local cancer society has a volunteer that can help? I wish you all the best!

It sounds like you're experiencing (or your spouse) the same cancer and treatment I did. I pray you will have the same outcome as I have had. I am 18 months free of cancer and progressing well back to a better life. It's not an easy trip back to somewhat of normalcy but its doable....I was near dead when the cancer was discovered...and I'm back to work today. So be positive your recovery will be speedy...
