My plate is titanium. I have numbness in my jaw, and very little feeling on half of my lip. I was told it was from the radiation cutting off the blood to the area. now they are telling me the screws on the plate are loose. The doctor was very upfront with me about taking the plate out. there are many things that could go wrong. The bone could be rapped around the plate. if the jaw breaks there is no second chance and I will have a drastic change in the quality of life. Im afraid. Its on my mind all the time. I think we are both strong people but are human to. I don't dwell on the negative but I do think about it daily.

Glad to hear your doing well. I had mine done 1/12 years ago. The problem I have is the wound has not healed. Been in and out of hospital for infections. Many many antibiotics which gave me other problems.The wound is very small now. The doctor does not want to take the plate out because it will be a tough operation.how long did it take for you to feel more sensation on your left side. Do you have Lymphdema ?0October 2013
