    Hi
So sorry you ha e this to deal with. Exactly one year ago I was diagnosed with anal cancer stage 111B. It had traveled to a couple pelvic lymph nodes. I started chemo/ radiation the day after Christmas. Had Chemo run form 96 hours straight thru a port in my chest at the beginning of treatment and the end of treatment. Had 30 rounds of radiation. Finished up mid February. I have been in remission for 9 months. All my doctors said anal
    cancer was treatable and curable.
I am 68 and tolerated the treatment pretty well. Did have one blood infusion. Everyone handles the treatments differently. Try not to read treatment side effects on the internet. I did and was scared silly. You can do this!! If you have any questions that I could answer please let me know.

Sending my thoughts to you as you enter this "event" in your life. Perhaps there is a "senior" group that quilts or knits in Conway. Isolation is bad for you because it's important to eat well during cancer treatment - it's also important to laugh every day to maintain a sense of balance in your life.

Be proactive and try to find a senior group that meets on a regular basis.

I am a rectal cancer survivor so I know that cancer doesn't choose convenient places.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx. Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the database to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.

Welcome to WhatNext from a Stage IV rectal cancer survivor. Our kind of diagnosis is challenging for sure. Try to take this one day at a time. Waiting for a treatment plan is the worst part. Please ask questions, and we'll try to help.
