Lottiem, good news, WE ARE NOT DISPOSABLE! I did have radiation and was on Letrozole (Femara) for five years. Then I go put on Tamoxifen and have been on that for about 2 yrs. now. Now I have peripheral neuropathy in both feet and legs (can be caused by surgery and radiation) among other things. i contacted the American Cancer Society directly. I went to the oncologist's office and told the nurse practitioner what the gynecologist's office told me. I told them that the PDR said we should get a pap smear every year while on Tamoxifen. The practitioner told me the PDR was wrong. ACS said if you had a hysterectomy after the age of 65 you no longer need a pap smear every year. That would not help with endometrial cancer which is a side effect of the Tamoxifen (this is what I was upset about). Now my fears have been put to rest. Had a hysterctomy (no uterus) many moons ago. We do need a Woman's Wellness Exam, just not a pap smear any longer. I hope you can understand my rambling. If you have any questions I suggest you call ACS. They were super nice and even sent me a whole bunch of info to my email address. I talked to a gal named Olivia and a nurse there too. I'm thinking about you. I hadn't forgotten. Just had to wait till I saw the doctor. Good luck to you. Prayers and Hugs to you Lottiem.0October 2016

Lottiem when I saw my gynecologist last she informed I didn't need to come back for a pap again because I'd never had a 'bad' one and due to my age. Don't know if its because I'm alone now, the insurance changes int he world, or what is going on. I guess we are considered "to old to worry about". Don't know. Will check with my oncologist when I see her again.0September 2016
