Hi , we have an opportunity for melanoma patients to participate in a survey/study about their treatments they have taken. It's a simple survey that will take about 90 minutes by phone, if you qualify to take the survey you will be paid $200.00. If you check your email you will find an invitation to take the survey to see if you will qualify. Let me know if you have any questions.

I sent a response to you before I saw the entire history. I now see that your partner got two kinds of radiation close in time to when he got 10 rounds of IL-2. This is all good, because the research at Providence Portland (Oregon) shows good results from the combined effect of radiation and immunotherapy treatments--they tend to boost each other's effectiveness. The doctors working on that are Dr. Curti (melanoma oncologist) and Dr. Seung (radiation oncologist.) Best wishes to both of you.

I know nothing about that gene, but realize that many mutations aren't understood yet in terms of what they mean for cancer patients. It could be irrelevant. My advice is not to worry about the mutation one way or the other until you have more information. Let the challenges of each day be enough.

Hi, my fiance was just diagnosed last week with stage iv cancer. they think it is either his melanoma that has spread from his battle last year or a new case of testicular cancer that has spread. It has gone to his lungs, kidney, liver, spleen and adrenal glands. He has surgery in 2 days and then they can do a biopsy to see what it is and start treatment.

I am scared to death. I am staying positive for him but there is so much cancer I don't know what is going to happen. And there could be more.

I read your posts and maybe we can help each other

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site. After you have an opportunity to look the site over and see what great things there are here, we encourage you to invite your friends, family or anyone you know that may be helped by the connections on WhatNext to join the site also.
