Hi babe12, I was diagnosed with stage IVa squamous cell carcinoma vaginal cancer a year ago this month. Had all the chemo and radiation and received good news in Nov that I’m in remission. But as all cancer survivors know, the fear of wondering if it will return is also so very hard. I was wondering how you’re doing and if there were any changes you made after all the treatments that you feel were beneficial?

Hi Babe: Thank you so much for your kind message. I read your background and you have been through so much! I so appreciate your reaching out to me. I was THRILLED to read you were diagnosed in Sept 11 and you are in remission. Such good news! I was diagnosed last October with Stage 1V endometrial adenocarcinoma which had spread to the vagina, bladder, colon, momentum, ovaries, etc. I had a hysterectomy at U of Penn. but they were unable to get the vaginal growth because of where it was in relation to the colon. I had 3 doses of Taxol/Carbo, just finished 2 months of daily external radiation, and am starting back on Taxol/Carbo next Tues. They cancelled the internal radiation because they were afraid of causing a fistula. I feel very hopeless at times, scared, etc. I have an only child (grown but still my baby) who is pregnant with her first child due in Sept and I desperately want to be here for her and my grand baby. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for reaching out to me and know that I am here for you also. Hugs from Celia

Hello and welcome, we are glad you found us. Here is a link to our cancer dx page for your type of cancer. Take a look at it to get you started on some information. You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, any questions you may have just post them in the questions tab and everyone will see them there and be able to help you.

There are also subtypes listed on this page to narrow down the type of cancer to match your dx.

Also, if you can take a few minutes and fill in some details of your journey so far, it will help others as they try to answer questions for you, it also helps others as they search through the data base to find someone like themselves. Confirming your email will allow you to receive updates and notices from the site when someone answers your questions or writes on your wall.

Thanks for being with us and let me know if I can help you find any information on the site.
