So sorry to hear about your husband. So far, so good. Bert finished his three treatments end of August. Was in the hospital for one week after third infusion...dehydrated, inflammation of bowel, fever but recovered well. All scans remained clean and surgery took place just three days ago. They removed 2/3 of his stomach and everything looked good inside. He remains in ICU but his vitals and his spirit are good. Thank you for asking. I didn't want to intrude so I haven't written in a while.

I too pray...I ask only that He give us a cure for if they find a cure for one, all others won't be far behind. I have to admit, I've been praying for this ever since Bert's first cancer and loosing my mom to lung cancer. Hopefully, one day He will answer all our prayers.

How did the test come back...last you wrote you were waiting on results. So your husband is on chemo then too which will be followed by surgery. My husband handled his first one quite well...second is coming. Third at end of August and possibly a 4th. Either way, we too are looking at surgery maybe late September, early to mid October. Hang in there...I'm right beside you.

We are doing ok, thank you for asking. And you? Did your husband have surgery? Mine won't until mid October. He had his first EOX infusion and will be doing second on August 6. They want to do three to four, then surgery. He tolerated his first one quite well...a couple of days of neuropathy and a few days of tired with little appetite by about the 8th day, no symptoms or signs.

How are you doing?

My husband lost his right kidney when he had right ureter cancer 3.5 years ago and while the kidney itself was clean, the stage I cancer was so close to the kidney we could either watch, wait and see or take it. We took it never thinking we'd be dealing with a third cancer just. The oncologist my husband has specializes in gastric cancers, particularly of the stomach and this program is less toxic and has also set proven results of increased overall survival. As he puts it, "the proof is in the pudding." Hubby starts his first one tomorrow. We have a long road ahead of us, as I'm sure you do too. Please, if you wish to talk, I am here. My husband has Lynch Syndrome and has been plagued by cancers since before 50. Just wish we would have known about the genetic mutation sooner. Kudos to your husband for being a two times kidney transplant survivor...he will survive this as well as will mine ) Again, please feel free to contact me for if your fear and anxiety are anywhere close to mine, I think talking to each other will help.
