Hi Mistyb,
It looks like we have a lot in common. I just turned 40, was diagnosed in February and am ER,PR +. So, please let me know if I can help in any way. I just finished treatment and am coming off of my final reconstruction after a doulbe mastectomy.0June 2013 -
Hi MistyB - I have stage IIa BC. I took 3 weeks off for my bilateral mastectomy and I take the Friday of chemo and the Monday after off. I will do my 6th cycle this Friday. It isn't necessarily easy but it is doable! My onco says most people work during tx. My twin sister had BEP chemo for ovarian cancer and absolutely could not work as she had chemo 3 days a week for 3 months. I would think your situation would be similar to mine since we both have BC. Does that help?0June 2013

Hope your recovery is going well. Just wanted to check up on you and see if there is anything else you have questions about. I know it takes a little while for the dust to settle and then a million new questions begin flooding your mind. Especially after the pathology comes back!! Just let me know if I can help.

Hi mistyb,
Just saw that you had a double mastectomy on 5/22 - me too! I did not have reconstruction because I need to have radiation, so my reconstruction will be delayed.
I had outpatient surgery, which seemed a little crazy, but I am home and feeling good, pain is under control and visiting nurse should be coming today or tomorrow.
Hope you are doing well. Would love to hear how it's going for you.0May 2013 -

You will notice at the bottom of that page 4 of our active users who have had that journey already, you may wish to contact them for their experience and wisdom. Also, I encourage you to go to the questions page now by clicking on the questions tab at the top of the page and post what is the most pressing issue you have right now. This will introduce you to the community and get you started on the help you need right now.
