Hi adf3! I was diagnosed at Thanksgiving and waited almost a month to find out if I was EGFR positive. I've been on Gilotrif for less than two weeks. Biggest issue for me is the lung tumors pressing on my breathing tube and trying to find comfortable positions to sleep. I am curious as to whether you take Tarceva and do chemo? Also, did the Tarceva help shrink your tumors or just keep it at bay? I'm really hoping for some relief so breathing is easier. THanks for sharing!0December 2014
Thanks for answering, now I understand. I already had brain surgery and an hour of radiation to my head. Neither were pleasant but necessary. I've asked about surgery for the lung tumor but Dr says no. I'm on maintenance chemo every 3 weeks I get Alimpta and Avastin. I can't believe how much it costs, . $33,000. plus every time. What chemo meds are you on?
My Husband started on Tarceva in November. We recently took him off because of the brain mets. The tarceva worked very well, the lung tumors were smaller and the liver improved as did the cancer in the bones. Wish the Tarceva could stop the brain mets.0February 2014
